The highly anticipated 2025 season of BCR Sport Arena Streetball got off to an electrifying start on Friday, May 9, in one of the most unique urban venues in Bucharest — the lake basin of Drumul Taberei Park. From 4:00 PM onward, the space filled rapidly with players, fans, families, and curious passersby, all brought together by one thing: a shared love for sport.
A Celebration of Movement and Community
With five 3×3 basketball courts active until nightfall, the event turned into a playground of motion. But basketball was just the beginning. Visitors enjoyed:
- Volleyball and mini-football
- Basketball-themed fan games
- Jump rope and street dance
- Table tennis matches with champions Andreea Jifcu and Andreea Băiașu, medalists at both European and Balkan championships
From the very first tip-off, there were nail-biting overtime games, surprising upsets, and nonstop suspense — a testament to the competitive spirit and passion on display.

A Vibe You Can Feel Across the City
The vibrant energy spread well beyond the courts, resonating through Sector 6, helped along by perfect weather and a crowd that just kept growing. For the players, the formula was simple and unforgettable:
“Show up, play hard, sweat, laugh with your team, high-five your rivals — and leave knowing you just experienced the ultimate street sport vibe.”
And of course, they’ll be back. Because this tournament? It’s far from over.
Stars, Tricks & Slam Dunks
The action turned up a notch with a celebrity showdown between:
- Team “Teștoasele Mingea”: Ioana Ghizilă, rapper DOC, and kickboxer Benny Adegbuyi
vs. - “West Side is the Best Side”: Zada Williams, Ovidiu Neacșu, and Sector 6 Mayor Ciprian Ciucu
The Turtles took the win, but the crowd got the real prize — a fantastic show that was just the beginning.
Next came Gabi Orban, trial biking legend and three-time Guinness World Record holder, whose mind-bending freestyle tricks had the crowd gasping and cheering.
Then, as the sun began to set, it was time for the Face Team. Known for their gravity-defying slam dunk routines, the Hungarian crew left jaws on the floor with performances that included a double front flip — something many spectators were witnessing for the first time.
Six Hours of Pure 3×3 Action — and More to Come
The day wrapped up at 10:00 PM with the final game in the U21 men’s group stage, capping off six nonstop hours of 3×3 basketball. And the best part?
This was just Day 1.
Two more days await — promising even more thrills, surprises, and that unmatched urban sport energy that only BCR Sport Arena Streetball can deliver.
